Day 1 - Mexico City
Welcome and transfer to airport hotel, free time, lodging.
Day 2 - Mexico City
Breakfast and leave walking to the impressive Zócalo (Central Plaza) of gorgeous Mexico City, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a key point between the Aztec Empire and Mexico today. Pass by the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace and the Fine Arts Palace. Later we will go to Reforma Avenue where we will see the Angel of Independence and Diana the Hunter, among others, and we will also see some emblematic neighborhoods of the city such as Roma and La Condesa. Free time to enjoy the city at your own pace.
Day 3 - Mexico City
Breakfast and leave for spectacular Teotihuacán, the “City of the Gods,” named this by the Aztecs because they were amazed by the greatness of this city, which was once the largest urban area in ancient Mexico and today is one of the most visited archaeological sites in the Americas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will begin with Tlatelolco, the largest archaeological site in Mexico City, which was part of the capital of the Aztec Empire. The largest market in the empire was located here, and it was also where the conquest of the Aztecs took place. The city of Tlatelolco was once connected to the north by a great avenue that went to Tepeyac Hill, where the Aztecs worshiped Tonantzin, who is better known today as Our Lady of Guadalupe, and it is in precisely in this place where we will make our next stop.
Today popularly known as La Villa or the Basilica of Guadalupe, it is the most important religious site in the country and one of the most visited Catholic places in the world. The Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico is not only a religious symbol, but an identity for Mexicans. It is no coincidence that the first president of the country was named Guadalupe Victoria.
Day 4 - CDMX, Tuxtla Gutiérrez Chiapas, San Cristóbal de las Casas
Breakfast and transportation to the Mexico City Airport to board a flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas. Arrival and a welcome from our guide. Departure for the Sumidero Canyon. Arrival at the docks and a two-hour boat trip in the canyon. Departure for colonial Chiapa de Corzo, which was recently named a World Heritage Site because of its festivals of parachico dancers. Guided visit on foot of its historic center. Free time for lunch in Chiapa de Corzo. Departure for San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Arrival at the hotel. Free time for dinner.
Day 5 - San Cristóbal, Chiflón y Lagos de Montebello, San Cristóbal de las Casas
Breakfast included in the hotel starting at 7 am to leave at 8 am to go to the CHIFLÓN WATERFALL. Upon arriving, we will take a walk outdoors to climb and admire the 120 meter-high Velo de Novia waterfall. Next, we will continue our trip by passing by the Montebello Lakes. We will return to San Cristóbal to enjoy the afternoon in this gorgeous place. Free time for dinner.
Day 6 - San Cristóbal de las Casas, Indigenous Communities, San Cristóbal de las Casas
After breakfast, we will go to the indigenous communities of the Tzotzil ethnic group, mainly visiting Chamula, to learn about the fusion of contemporary traditions and Mayan ancestral characteristics that give this place its identity. Later, we will go to Zinacantán, where we will visit the church and the house of a family cooperative where we will observe how women have worked at knitting belts since Pre-Colombian times. Upon finishing, we will return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas and take a tour of this beautiful city. The rest of the day is free. Lodging.
Day 7 - San Cristóbal de las Casas, Agua Azul, Palenque
After breakfast in the morning, we will leave for Palenque, making a stop at Agua Azul, a series of waterfalls created by the currents of the Otulún, Shumuljá and Tulijá rivers, forming shallow canyons with vertical cliffs, where you can swim and enjoy the different areas. Later, we will go to the Misol-Ha waterfall, which with its 30 meters of height and high tropical jungle surroundings makes this a beautiful and refreshing place. Upon finishing, we will visit the archaeological site of Palenque. This Mayan city is memorable for its architectural heritage and sculptures. Here we can admire various constructions: The Palace, The Temple of the Foliated Cross, the Temple of the Sun, and more. Transportation to the hotel in the city of Palenque and lodging.
Day 8 - Palenque, Yaxchilán
Very early, at approximately 6 am, we will depart for Frontera Corozal. (We will stop for breakfast on the way.) Once at the Guatemalan border, we will navigate the Usumacinta River for approximately one hour until we arrive at the impressive Yaxchilán archaeological site, a magical place with lush vegetation, recognized for the quality of its sculptures. Return to the hotel (free time for lunch) and later we will continue our route in boat through Corozal Bethel until arriving at Flores. Arrival and transportation to the hotel, afternoon free and lodging.
Day 9 - Frontera Corozal, Tikal
Breakfast in the hotel and transportation to Tikal National Park, where you will be accompanied by a specialized guide during the entire visit, who will guide us through Q Complex, the Central Plaza, the Northern and Central Acropolis, the Lost World Complex, and Temple IV. Later we will have lunch inside the park. (Lunch included, except for drinks.) In the afternoon, transportation to Belmopán. Arrival and lodging.
Day 10 - Belize
Breakfast at the indicated time. We will leave for Belize, where we will take a city tour, where we will see the most emblematic places in the city. We will continue to San Pedro, where to get to the coast we will board a boat. Arrival, transportation to the hotel, free time and lodging.
Day 11 - Belizean Coast San Pedro
Breakfast in the hotel. At 11:00, free time until the time for transportation to Chetumal. Arrival at the hotel, free afternoon and lodging.
Day 12 - Kohunlich, Mahahual
Breakfast, and at the indicated time we will leave to visit the impressive Kohunlich archaeological zone, an impressive Mayan city in the middle of the jungle in the south of Quintana Roo and the home of many spider and howler monkeys. We will find the spectacular Mascarones Temple. If time permits, we will continue to the Dzibanche archeological zone, a Mayan City founded around year 200 BC, with which we can witnesses why the Mayans persisted in time. We will continue to Mahahual. Free time for dinner and lodging.
Day 13 - Mahahual
Free day for personal activities. It is recommended to take a full-day tour (with an additional cost) to the spectacular Banco Chinchorro world of coral and shells that forms part of the reserve of coral reefs in Mexico, the second largest in the world.
Day 14 - Mahahual, Tulúm, Playa del Carmen
Breakfast and at the appropriate time we will go to Tulum. Upon arriving at the national park, we will visit the walled city on the Caribbean Sea, which was important for the Mayans and which in its time was a political and ceremonial center. Among its most important buildings is the Castle, which offers a beautiful view and is the greatest attraction in Tulum. Free time to sunbathe or swim. Later we will leave for Playa del Carmen. Check-in at the hotel. Lodging.
Day 15 - Playa del Carmen
Breakfast. Free day. The perfect occasion to take an optional tour to Isla Mujeres, a natural sanctuary where the history of Mexico mixes with fun traditions and the splendor of the Mayan culture. Open your doors to the shores of the Caribbean Sea, and it invites you to discover magical experiences where underground rivers await you, along with the animals of the Mayan jungle and exciting shows. (Tour cost $85 USD per person, minimum 2 people, includes food and drinks.) Lodging.
Day 16 - Playa del Carmen
Breakfast. Free day. It is recommended to take the ferry that brings us to Cozumel, a gorgeous island in the Mexican Caribbean. Lodging.
Day 17 - Playa del Carmen
Breakfast. At the indicated time, you will be transported to the Cancun Airport to take your flight to your city of origin. END OF OUR SERVICES.
